Oh the poor little darling - it is shocking to contemplate the story behind his dejected and neglected appearance …

  2. 2 Worried onlooker

What do the RSPCA say about this - standard line I suppose “nothing we can do” !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve not often seen a dog in this poor condition. It appears to be a young male, is he entire and used to make money?
He is incredibly thin, matted and cowed, with no muscle tone. He obviously cannot see clearly because of his neglected coat. I do hope that the RSPCA will prosecute whoever is responible for his dreadful condition, this is an obvious cruelty case.

That is appalling. Give him to Debra you fool so he can be looked after properly. Something you are obviously incapable of doing. You shouldn’t even own an animal if you have them in that condition. You are a moron!

Well having read little Oscar’s facebook and understanding the truth about the breeder, the owner, the initial finder who was prepared to find but not prepared to protect, the finder’s family, the authorities, the ‘law’, the law enforcers and the saviours (thank god for the saviours), the complete and total wrong and injustice in all of this, I am confident that Oscar’s story will be a turning point.

Hi Lisa, what’s the rest of the story re. the breeder, etc? Or are people not being named for a particular reason (ie. decreasing the chances of getting Oscar back)? Thanks.

Hi Jane M, the story as I see it, is as has been reported on the ALV site http://www.alv.org.au/storyarchive/0829stoppuppyfarms/stop-dog-battery-farms.php
    and on Oscar’s Facebook http://www.facebook.com/group.php?v=wall&gid=264420413220

“Oscar was rescued from appalling conditions at a puppy farm in Central Victoria, Australia. Oscar suffered terribly and had infected ears, dental disease and inflamed infected gums, his fur was so matted it felt like concrete and his skin was barely visible. Once his matted fur was shaved under general anesthetic due to the pain he was in, his skin was covered in abscesses caused by grass seeds. Oscars freedom was short lived. Days after his rescue police raided an animal activist’s home and seized Oscar and returned him to the puppy farm.”

Oscar has been returned to his abusers. If you were the abuser, would you want Oscar being freed to tell his story or would you want to cover your butt and hide in your slime?

The untold story as I see it, is that someone bred this dog, brought him into this world, and someone has allowed him and others to fall into a state of complete and utter neglect. Others have owned Oscar as ‘property’ and allowed this condition to remain and possibly worsen. Others known to the breeder/owner, visitors, family, friends, have at times all no doubt all seen Oscar and the others and done what ? Council, RSPCA, Police have all seen Oscar and others and done what ? Others may have also seen Oscar and done what ? All have walked away and betrayed Oscar and the others with the standard lines of the law, the process, the ‘property’.

However the untold story of Oscar, his abusers and all who betrayed this dog by walking away from Oscar and all the others, (comfortable with their own ‘excuses’, none of which I will ever accept), will all eventually surface – the truth always does.

Whoever rescued Oscar should push the RSPCA, The DPI and the local counicl. Keep on their backs and make something happen. Don’t just let it go. The police also have a duty of care towards animals so get onto them as well. If you just leave it to someone else nothing will happen. Push Push Push believe me it does work.

Helen T - refer below and I think you will take comfort that no-one is letting this go or letting go of all the other nameless and faceless and often voiceless ‘Oscar’s’. This push has been ongoing for almost 20 years. People have devoted their life to this and other related causes. In terms of it being the responsibility of just those that rescued Oscar pushing the authorities, we are all responsible. We can all use our voice and a pen or email and you can help with the ‘push’.

Word has it that Ian, the manager at Blacktown Pound, NSW takes dogs from the pound and then sells them to Victorian puppy farmers. If true this wanker should be sacked. Please contact Blacktown City Council and lodge a complaint.

poor buba. how could those policemen pick up a dog that is clearly matted and hand back. this is where the law is failing!!!!!!

When dogs are ignored and allowed to be kept in these discusting, filthy, appalling conditions then what use would it be to report them to the RSPCA? The law makers and upholders of the law don’t do a damn thing, why, because these organisations are just there to look good. They don’t give a rats about the animals they are paid to protect. They get millions in donations which is udes to pay their salaries. Visitors/potential puppy purchasers who go into these places believe that the owners have permit and are therefore regulated, inspected and audited. Often you don’t even get into the kennel where the atrociaties are committed. RSPCA you are a bunch of do-gooders who do nothing, hang your heads in shame. Close all these places down ASAP, fine the owners and jail them.
